Today I'm Wearing: Monochrome

Leather Jacket: Whistles
Crop top: ASOS
Trousers: Zara
Slides: Zara
Bag: H&M
Sunglasses: H&M

A quick outfit of the day post from last week before I went to cut off all my hair. I'll post the new "do" soon, although I did have a bit of trouble when I left the hairdressers and some parts started to turn green! *note to self - never use toner. All has been rectified now though thankfully.

During the warm weather a couple of weeks ago I invested in a new selection of crop tops from the wonderful ASOS for a bargain £8. However, as soon as they were delivered the sun left and the clouds arrived. Typical!

So out came the trusty leather jacket. I bought it in a Whistles sale last year and it has quickly become my most loved item without a doubt. The leather just gets softer with age and I can throw it over the top of anything - a lifesaver with our fluctuating British weather!

Whistles Wishlist: Sports Luxe

With Wimbledon kicking off this week and the World Cup now well under way I'm definitely in a sporty mood. But I'm not talking about wanting to go outside and throw and few balls around (it's hard enough dragging myself to the gym) but instead I'm thinking more in terms of my sartorial choices.

No one can deny that Sports Luxe is a trend that is here to stay. It's been a firm Spring/Summer favourite for so long and it's not hard to see why. What's not to love about a trend that involves a bit of comfort?

As sports luxe doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon I felt it was time to invest in some new pieces and no one on the high street does easy and laid back style quite like Whistles.

It's one of my go-to brands when I'm looking for more luxurious pieces as well as those wardrobe staples. I found Whistles to have a great collection of slouchy tops and soft jersey joggers that really encapsulates the sports luxe trend and so I thought I would share my wishlist.

My favourites have to be the Lizzie Jersey Joggers. But team with a statement necklace and a pair of strappy sandals for a look that's more cocktail bar than locker room!

Trending: Holographic

Holographic make-up bag: Topshop
Holographic clutch: Monki

When Burberry Prorsum featured those metallic silk trenches in its S/S '13 collection it was time to take notice. The holographic trend for all things shiny and shimmery was here and seems set to continue.

I have to admit I do feel like a bit of a Magpie when I'm in a store and spot a holographic item. I'm immediately drawn to it. I hold it and stroke it but rarely do I buy it. As much as I love this illuminating fabric it's unlikely that I'm ever going to be brave enough to walk down my road rocking a holographic jacket or pair of iridescent trousers. So accessories are the easiest way to incorporate this trend into an everyday look, whether its a clutch or a simple belt. And the best thing about this trend…it's many colours mean it'll go with pretty much everything!

Trending: Scrunchies

At 25 I remember the scrunchie trend the first time around and lets say I was not in any rush to revisit this anytime soon. When I recollect visions of my youth I can just see my frizzy brunette tresses pulled back into a ponytail with a velvet covered piece of elastic and terrible flyways…it was not a good look!

When Carrie Bradshaw said that no self respecting New York City woman would be caught dead running around Manhattan in a scrunchie I thought that was the final nail in the coffin for me and the fabric covered hair accessory.

But then along came Cara Delevigne and the likes of Cressida Bonas, both sporting surprisingly cool looks with the 80's hair staple.

So I thought I would take the plunge and with the added benefit of less hair breakage then your usual elastic bands, why not give them a try?

Wanting to avoid looking like a gymnast or worse…Hilary Clinton, I chose these cute little Topshop versions which come in a great variety of prints and these fun little bunny ears. I went with the polkadot for my monochrome looks and this gorgeous flamingo print which is a great little take on the tropical trend.

What do you think about scrunchies? Is it a fashion revival or should they remain back in the 90's?

Today I'm Wearing...

Primark mini backpack

The sun is out and it's finally stopped raining, which means I can finally wear these lovely slides I picked up in Zara last week!

These are the third pair of slides that I've purchased in the past month and are definitely my favourite. They're so easy to wear and I especially like the laid back vibe they bring to this outfit.

I actually picked up this striped knitted dress in Zara last month for a Christening which I wore with a pair of black courts and a clutch. I'm a sucker for anything with stripes.  As someone who wears a LOT of black and white, it means I can mix and match with ease. It's such a versatile piece too which you can dress up or down, so it's a bargain at £39.99.

I also love this mini backpack which I got at Primark for Parklife at the weekend. It managed to fit a surprising amount in for its size so could be a good option for those looking for something to carry those  festival essentials. I think it was only £8 and they also do a cute little brown version too.

Topshop Wishlist: All White Everything

Glacial Mule Sandals
Textured Long Line Duster Coat
Perforated Backpack
Modern Tailoring Pencil Skirt with Zip

There's nothing I love more than an all white outfit. I just think they look so chic, even if it is a little impractical for those clumsily inclined folks like myself!

I've been having a hunt recently for some new white pieces to add to my wardrobe and found that Topshop just had so many great items that I felt had to share some of them. I absolutely love love LOVE these white mules and will definitely be purchasing these very shortly…they also have a very nice looking pair in Black…tempting! I know, I know…another duster coat in my wish list. But I can't help it. Summer so far in Manchester has been pretty shocking, so these lightweight coats are just so versatile at the moment. I also love this Bralet and Pencil skirt combo, both with a little black detailing. What do you guys think of all white outfits? Yay or nay?

Hurray for H&M!

I have a wish list and then I have a 'wish list'. The latter is exactly that.

It is made up of all the things that I only wish that I could buy. One of the items on this list is the Hermés Clic-Clac H enamel bracelet, but starting at £470 I just can't justify spending that when I'm supposed to be saving up for a wedding.

So I was pretty pleased when I spied this version in H&M that just so happened to come in THE Hermés orange…winner!

And at only £5.99, that's a nice £464.01 towards those wedding favours.
